Whistler Dog Daycare

Open 7 days a week in the heart of Whistler Village, The Mountain Hound Lounge is here to meet to all of Whistler’s dog daycare, grooming & retail needs.

We are Whistler’s only full-service dog grooming shop but for those who prefer to do-it-yourself, we also have a self-service bathing area with products, grooming tools, bath tub & dryer supplied.

The daycare lounge, complete with plush leather couches, a brightly painted interior and doggie toys, offers daycare on an hourly, half-day or full-day basis. Dogs are taken out regularly for pee-breaks and will be walked during the day by experienced staff members.

Many hotels in Whistler are dog-friendly but dogs are not allowed to remain in hotel rooms without their owner present. Our service allows families to go sightseeing, mountain biking or skiing all day and out for dinner, a movie, or a sleigh ride in the evening.

Requirements for our Daycare Dogs

We accept all breeds of dog but we do have a few guidelines that need to be respected:

• Daycare dogs must be spayed or neutered if over 7 months. We make no exceptions with male dogs
• We accept puppies over 3 months old. If your puppy is under 3 months please call us to discuss
• All vaccinations must be kept up-to-date according to your vet’s protocol (rabies, DHPP, bordetella). If your dog is unable to be vaccinated due to health reasons or allergies please call to discuss this with our staff
• Dogs must be socialized and not prone to aggressive behavior for the safety of our other doggie guests and our staff
• Dogs must be relatively obedient and be free of any major behavioral disorders
• Dogs must be familiar with on-leash walking. Because of our vicinity to Whistler Village and Highway 99, all of our walking is done on-leash for the safety of your dogs
